It is done
It’s been a while since I last wrote something about the new place I was planning on moving to. The reason is that I was busy making it happen. Today was the 3rd day already and I’m quite happy with how things turned out.
I didn’t get much sleep the night before the big move and my mind kept repeating a loop of thoughts of things that might go wrong: My stuff might not fit into the transporter or it would be too much for a small cabin to handle and I’d be stuck with it, unless I manage to sell it somehow or get rid of it. Of course none of that came to pass. The available space in the house is used plentiful and I’ve already done 12 unboxings to have more space moving around. I still tend to spend way too much time in my head and it’s not always great in there. My kitchen is already setup to prep coffee and I setup my desk in order to be able to ready for some work after this weekend.

First shopping ride
Went down into town today. Took quite the adventurous route on the road bike which wasn’t the best of ideas. Should stick with paved roads on the road bike. Even the cross bike might not be optimal for the less traveled paths in autum.
Spent a 180EUR shitcoins on making by road bike climbing ready and the fucking mechanic didn’t even test all the gears. Carrying 8kg (bicycle), 85kg (me) and 11kg of shopping weight uphill stuck on the 2nd easiest gear had me put in a lot more watts than necessary.
First they didn’t properly align my brake levers, forgot to readjust my handlebar height as specified, didn’t do a proper inspection and now this.
Then again, it’s a good reminder to be proud of losing those ~40kg excess weight over the years. Just 5kg more and I’d probably given up today, carrying the bike for the last kilometer or so.

Getting to know the new town
It’s a small town but I already explored the local café (which is very comfy and allows even for working there), enjoyed their pumpkin soup and got to know the owner. I met only friendly people thus far.
